Derek is a is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), with a master's degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. Derek is a former resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado and he has a joy of the great outdoors and a love for playing all contact sports.
Derek has worked in the field of counseling in various forms including working with the military, working as a correctional officer, doing foster parenting and even working as a group home director. Currently, Derek is the director of the Gratitude House in Dallas. At the Gratitude House Derek helps young men to face their struggles with addictions. He also helps these young men to face the daily difficulties that transpire on the road towards recovery.
Derek provides counseling to individuals, couples, and families at his private practice. He also provides a safe and warm environment where clients can regain their perspective, find acceptance, and pursue their desires to move forward in life. Derek offers Tuesday, Thursday afternoon and Saturday appointments.
Derek works with individuals and groups who are struggling in the following areas: Drug & Alcohol Addictions, Anger Issues, Co-dependency, Sexual Abuse, Abandonment, Depression, Anxiety, Divorce, Grief Support & Dual Diagnosis.
